About Lidded jug, enamel luxury ware with gilt silver mounting

Email decor: probably by Christian Friedrich Herold (1700-1779) | Silver mounting: Stephan Grimmau (Grimaud / Grimmo / Grümau) (1721-1764)

A baluster-shaped lidded jug made of enamel with a profiled foot ring, handle, and interior set in fire-gilded silver. The polychrome decor on a white background includes seven reserves with Dionysian scenes of individual figures as well as sociable pairs of figures in architectural landscapes. These are complemented by ribbon, lattice, and strapwork, fruit festoons, and gold reliefs.
